Fully accredited by the FHT this course is aimed at qualified massage therapists who want to offer holistic massage confidently to those clients who are living with a cancer diagnosis. With the statistics of 1 in 2 of us getting cancer at some point in our lives, this course will be invaluable to qualified therapists to enable them to support their clients at all stages of their cancer journey.
This 2 day course provides an integrative approach to learning; combining allopathic and complementary therapies. Described by the FHT as “an incredibly detailed course” this training will give you the confidence to treat anyone who has cancer.
Day 1 is an at home study day with an exam taken which needs to be passed before progressing onto the next day face to face practical training. It will cover clinical information from what is cancer and why do we get it, different types of cancers and how they are treated, to holistic ways of using many different modalities to support your clients, as well as relaxation techniques, the use of essential oils and energy healing. You will learn on a practical level how to provide massage for clients who have things such as cannulas, picc lines and ostomy pouches.
Proof that a student holds a Massage Qualification in Full Body Swedish Massage or the equivalent and Anatomy and Physiology qualification is required to undertake this course.
