This Sacred and healing massage comes from Hawaii and is carried out using the hands and the forearms.
Unlike western style massage, the client is uncovered (modesty is always maintained) and using hot oils, the body is massaged from the tips of the toes to the top of the head in long, sweeping and seamless movements, stretching the limbs and relaxing both the body and the mind. Once learned and integrated, the Lomilomi massage elements can be incorporated into your own style of massage, giving even more scope to create bespoke personalised treatments for your clients.
It is a very spiritual, sacred, heart centered massage that includes ceremony and meditation. The Hawaiian culture, much like my own Pagan roots, believes Divinity is in everything, the plants, the rocks, the sea, the sky, the animals and us – we are not separate from them. With recognition to the cultural appropriation that is happening to indigenous peoples all over the world, Sacred Lomilomi needs to be conducted with grace, respect and reverence to the indigenous peoples, the Kahunas, the Ancestors and the spirits of the land. I will only teach this to very experienced therapists who have a deep understanding of and qualification in energy work, such as Reiki, or similar modalities, and who have connected with the calling of the Lomilomi essence. My Hands Free Massage training is a great precursor to this course if you do not have energy work experience. Please call me to have a chat further if you wish.
The course is dedicated to hands-on practice ensuring students are able to carry out a treatment confidently, safely and effectively. The comprehensive manual covers theory, setting up in business and after the course, ongoing support is provided.
It should be noted that this is a complementary treatment and should not replace the advice of a medical practitioner.
Upon completion students will be awarded a Diploma in Lomilomi Hawaiian Style Massage provided they can satisfy the Tutor that they are confident and competent.
Proof that a student holds a Massage Qualification in Full Body Swedish Massage or the equivalent and Anatomy and Physiology is required for this course.

Advanced Lomilomi Techniques Workshop

Learn the more advanced, spiritual techniques of Lomilomi, where we:
- Connect on a deeper level with the ‘Ha’ Breath,
- Learn ‘Bone Washing’,
- Recognise where emotions are stored deep in the fascia and learn how to release them.
- Revisit the Lomilomi practices and movements
